Interested in running for a seat on the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District Board of Education?
Each year, three terms expire on the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District Board of Education, creating three available positions.
Three (3) members of the Board of Education, to be elected for the term of three (3) years beginning on July 1, 2024, and ending on June 30, 2027.
Beginning Thursday, March 7, 2024, prospective board candidate packets are available for pick up in the District Clerk’s office during regular business hours. The office is located at the Education Center, 278 Route 32, Central Valley.
Completed nominating petitions must be submitted to the District Clerk no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024. For the May 21, 2024 election, a minimum of 34 signatures must be obtained.

Candidate Qualifications
Must be able to read and write
Must be a qualified voter of the district; that is, a citizen of the United States and at least 18 years of age
Must be a resident of the School District for at least one year prior to the election
No more than one member of a family may be a member of the same Board of Education in any school district.
May not hold another public office which is incompatible with Board of Education service
If removed from office, a member is ineligible to be appointed or elected to the Board of Education for one year from the date of removal.
May not be an employee of the school district except as permitted by law
