Middle School Guidance

All middle school students are assigned to a guidance counselor at the beginning of sixth grade. Each House has a designated guidance counselor who works with the same House faculty and administration every year. This familiarity with each House program helps the counselor to assist students both academically and socially.

Guidance counselors work to ease the transition from elementary to middle school for sixth graders.  When students are in seventh grade, counselors are beginning the planning for high school programs of study, and for eighth graders, they are guiding students in course selection for high school.

Students may check in at the guidance office to make an appointment to see their counselor at any time.  The guidance office also provides information on Peer Tutoring by older students and can arrange for homework help as well.
